The resolution asks the Iraqi government to end the agreement under which Washington sent forces to Iraq more than four years ago to help in the fight against the Islamic State terror group.
"The Iraqi government has an obligation to end the presence of all foreign forces on Iraqi soil and prevent it from using Iraqi lands, waters, and airspace or any other reason," Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi said in an address to lawmakers before the vote.
On Saturday, President Trump responded to all that noise, and the many threats from Iran that the media has lovingly quoted and tweeted and reported on air in somber tones and without criticism, with a tweet thread that is VERY specific about what happens if Iran tries to mess with us some more.

Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American, & badly wounded many others, not to mention all of the people he had killed over his lifetime, including recently....— Donald J. ....hundreds of Iranian protesters. He was already attacking our Embassy, and preparing for additional hits in other locations. Iran has been nothing but problems for many years. Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have.....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 4, 2020
....targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 4, 2020
That is, I’m sorry, bad ass.
Now the media, who uncritically and without admonition repeated all the threats from Iran over their revered dead terrorist, will treat Trump’s in-kind response as some sort of reckless and evil statement. He will be the aggressor, and we will be the aggressor, and poor innocent Iran and their terrorism the hapless “black and brown” victims.
Just you watch.
