Mark Cuban calls America’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic “a failure of leadership across the entire political spectrum.”

Mark Cuban refused to take the bait from ABC’s The View host Sunny Hostin who wanted him to criticize Trump’s response to the coronavirus outbreak:

Hostin started out by suggesting that Trump’s refusal to respond quickly and appropriately to the spread of the coronavirus “cost lives”, and asked Cuban to respond. But he saw it differently and refused to criticize Trump:
"You know, I'm not a fan of President Trump. But I'm not going to rip on him either because any senator could have stood up and said something and screamed loud. Any congressperson could have. Nobody did. And so, I didn't have high expectations for President Trump but I'm not going to throw him under the bus. I think it was a failure of leadership across the entire political spectrum. Anybody who had access to information that typical citizens did not should have been loud and clear and nobody did."
Hostin then pointed to Trump’s rising approval rating, asking if they were underestimating how Americans viewed Trump’s handling of this crisis:
"No, I mean look. He's doing the best can. Here's what I'll say. And again, I'm not a fan of his but what's real is real. When you have imperfect information, you make imperfect decisions. We're not in a ready, aim, fire mode. We're in a ready, fire, aim mode and that makes it tough. And so, no matter what he did, it's going to be wrong for some people."
He continues along those lines so be sure and listen to the video. But I like that Cuban is trying to be fair to Trump and, where he sees a failure, is not just singling him out for all the blame. Which is more than we can say about Hostin, who yesterday accused Trump of only wanting to reopen the economy because it’s hurting his hotel business.
"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin claimed on Tuesday that there's a self-serving motive to President Trump's eagerness to revive the U.S. economy, which has halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Hostin suggested that the president was dismissing the advice from his health experts, who continue to urge Americans to stay home and self-quarantine.
"For him to just sort of flout that advice tells me that there's something in it for him," Hostin speculated to her co-hosts. "And it tells me there's something economic in it for him. When you look at Trump's personal businesses, you know that he is losing almost $500,000 per day because six out of his seven hotels are losing money. They are shuttered every day."
She continued, "And that's why our Founding Fathers put the Emoluments Clause into the Constitution because our president should be more concerned about the lives of Americans rather than lining his own pockets. I think that is what this is really about."
During the Fox News virtual town hall, Trump expressed hope that the economy would be heading towards normal by Easter Sunday, on April 12.
"I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter," Trump said in the Rose Garden. "If we delay this thing out, you're going to lose more people than you're losing with the situation as we know it.
