Carville slammed Democratic party: 'I'm scared to death' for Democratic Party

Prominent Democratic figure James Carville joins MSNBC to discuss the results from the Iowa caucus. In a wide ranging interview, Carville slammed his Democratic party for the “concerning” results calculation in Iowa, saying it is “not going particularly well.” Carville argues polls indicate “enthusiasm among Democrats is not as high as we might like it.” Carville also called on the Party to “wake up” and “talking about relevant things,” and get back to having “strong, diverse” candidates. Carville also praised Elizabeth Warren for having “the best bio he has ever seen in a presidential candidate,” but adds she has to “get serious” on finishing her campaign.

Appearing on MSNBC, Carville began by pointing to the success Democrats had during the 2018 midterm elections and stressed that it "matters" who the candidates are and what the party chooses to talk about.
"I'm 75 years old, why am I here doing this? Because I'm scared to death, that's why," Carville exclaimed. "Let's get relevant here ... all the Sanders people are taking pictures wishing Jeremy Corbyn the best. ... I don't want to go down that path."
The former Clinton advisor slammed the press corps for going "AOC crazy" over its coverage of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and pointed to more moderate candidates like former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar who he noted "got a lot of votes" in Iowa.
"We've got to decide what we want to be. Do we want to be an ideological cult? Or do we want to have a majoritarian instinct to be a majority party?" Carville continued. "What we need is power, you understand? That's what this is about. Without power, you have nothing. You just have talking points."
Carville, who previously endorsed Sen. Michael Bennet for president, insisted that Democratic donors "will not give a popsicle to the DNC" with the current state of the 2020 field.
His point is that they aren’t connecting with everyday Americans and he’s not wrong. But the problem is bigger than just what they are talking about. It’s who they’ve become as radical socialists and how they want to pay for expensive new socialist entitlement programs out of the the wallet of the everyday struggling American. How they want open borders and have been trying to destroy the sitting president simply because they don’t like him. They aren’t reaching people because they’ve gone so far Left of the American people that they are speaking another language. And thankfully, the American people don’t yet speak radical socialist.
On the flip side you’ve got Trump touting a great economy, great unemployment numbers, a great stock market, great trade deals, etc. Why on earth would people want to trade him in, someone who is fighting for the everyday American, for the radical socialist alternative? It does not compute.
