Kasich: Carson Told Me He Was Dropping Out Of The 2016 Race (VIDEO)

Ohio Gov. John Kasich on Wednesday appeared to make explicit what his Republican presidential rival Ben Carson hadn't yet: that the soft spoken, retired neurosurgeon was suspending his bid for the White House.

"I just had a very, very nice conversation with Dr. Ben Carson who announced today that he's suspending his campaign," Kasich told the crowd at his campaign rally in Grand Blanc, Michigan. "And I think he held his head high and he's a very, very good man."

Carson put out a bizarre statement earlier in the day that said that he would skip the Fox News debate scheduled for Thursday. He also said he saw "no path forward" for his campaign.
Carson said he planned to give more context to that statement when he speaks Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
